Gran Turismo loses partnership with FIA
In 2019, an e-sports competition was held by FIA Motorsport Games for the first time. Back then, Gran Turismo Sport had the honor of being chosen to host the event. However, the new Gran Turismo 7 lacked FIA branding, which naturally left fans wondering if the 2022 FIA event will be held in Gran Turismo again.
Assetto Corsa Competizione replaces Gran Turismo at the FIA event
As GT Planet reports, the answer to this question is unfortunately a “no”. The partnership between FIA and Gran Turismo has probably ended, which is why the annual e-sports competition will be held in Assetto Corsa Competizione this year.
This year, riders from the 146 member associations around the world will be competing for medals. The nation with the most gold medals from the 17 different motorsport disciplines will be crowned the overall winner. Players already know that this year they can step into the GT3 and compete with them in GT, GT Sprint, and Endurance, among others.
FIA assumes that more than 80 racing drivers will reach the final. These are then reduced to 20 participants within three days in the KO system. On October 29, 2022, they will then compete for medals in the Mistral Hall.
That Gran Turismo 7 (buy now ) Not being selected for the FIA event this year will surely disappoint a lot of fans, but at least we should get an update on Gran Turismo 7 in the next few days, as the game’s producer explains on Twitter. According to rumors, this announcement could take the form of a new State of Play from Sony, in which, among other things, the release date of God of War Ragnarök is announced.
