Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 – The Sith Lords: Bug prevents game from completing
Developer Aspyr recently announced on Twitter that it is known that Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 cannot currently be completed on the Nintendo Switch.
The Austin, Texas-based development studio has made a name for itself in recent years porting games to new platforms, including some Star Wars titles. The Nintendo Switch version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords, originally released in 2004, was recently released. But this is now more of a problem.
Star Wars: KOTOR 2 not lockable – No concrete date for bug fix in sight
After a player tweeted a complaint to Aspyr about a bug causing the Switch version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 to crash, the studio acknowledged the mistake and apologized for the inconvenience. We already know about the error and are working to provide the patch as soon as possible.
Yes, we are aware and our dev team is working on delivering the patch as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience in the meantime!

The error is actually a crash in the middle of the “Basilisk Crash” cutscene, right after landing on Onderon. aspyr explained a few days ago on its support page that it had received several reports from affected players. Particularly unfortunate: The said point in the game catches up with us in about half of the entire campaign. A large part of the title is unplayable in advance.
There is no concrete release date for a fix of the bug so far. This should be particularly depressing for fans of the series, who were particularly pleased after Aspyr’s announcement last week that it would be adding content to the Switch version that was denied even to the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 from 2004.
