"Hyenas": Hunt for Rubik's Cubes and PEZ dispensers

With “Hyenas”, publisher Sega and developer Creative Assembly (including “Total War”, “Alien: Isolation”) have announced a new multiplayer shooter. From 2023, gamers will be able to hunt Rubik’s cubes, PEZ dispensers and other nostalgic artifacts, some of them weightlessly.

Earth is history, the rich have settled Mars, and the rest of humanity languishes in the Perineum, a vast orbiting slum — that’s what Sega says in Hyenas. So while humans struggle to survive, Mars billionaires’ only concern is to satisfy their nostalgia. They send in huge commercial raiders tasked with selling pop culture artifacts salvaged from Earth for exorbitant sums to satiate their cravings. A ragtag bunch of talented space pirates called hyenas won’t put up with that and they, formerly them belonging valuables. In teams of three people, five competing teams fight “for the hottest prey” and a successful escape. According to Sega, this requires both weapons and cunning as well as spatial orientation skills, as the pirates also expect “anti-gravity zones”. Mechanics, as Sega emphasizes. According to the publisher, there would be Panini sticker albums, a Sega Mega Drive and PEZ dispensers.
