Diablo Immortal: First update coming soon, story content teased

from Alexander Ney
The first update for the PC version of Diablo Immortal will focus on the Battle Pass and will be released over the next few weeks. This was announced by Activision Blizzard’s Adam Fletcher in a Reddit post. The Community Lead also promised free story and gameplay content “for everyone”.

Diablo Immortal’s campaign is intense but short. This was also shown by the feedback from a recently started Reddit thread in which users complained about the lack of long-term motivating content. The question as to when the first update for the demon slasher will appear, answered community lead Adam Fletcher as follows: “We’ll be releasing our first update over the next few weeks as we near the end of the current Battle Pass. We’ll also share some details about our content cadence as we go.” The patch will focus on the Battle Pass and individual features and fix bugs. Fletcher continues: “As we’ve noted in the past, major gameplay content will be free for players, so expect additional story content and so on in the future for everyone to experience.”

“What calendar are you looking at?”

Adam Fletcher’s announcement quickly drew criticism on Reddit: “Of all the well thought out, brilliantly written posts out there, is this the one you’re replying to? C’mon man. Your community isn’t happy with you guys at all.” Another writer complained that it was already difficult to get a powerful group of players together. It takes something to keep people playing beyond launch week. Fletcher’s release date for the patch has also been questioned: “My brother in Christ, what calendar are you looking at that suggests that in ‘a few weeks’ we will reach the end of the current Battle Pass? It ends in 12 days”, noted one user. The addressee has not yet commented on the allegations.
