One of the best shooters on Steam just got the biggest update ever

The Shooter Squad is one of the most popular shooters on Steam. Now the latest update “Amphibious Assault” has brought the biggest innovations to the game so far. In addition to a new map, there were also weapons, vehicles and another playable faction.

What game is Squad? Squad is a hardcore shooter on Steam that was released in 2015. It is considered a real insider tip among shooter fans because it relies on realism and strong gunplay.

What is the new update? The latest update 3.0 is called Amphibious Assault. New to the game are another playable faction, weapons, amphibious vehicles and a coastal map.

This makes Amphibious Assault the biggest update so far with probably the most interesting innovations in Squad.

What new faction is there? Matching the new map, the US Marines are a new playable faction. These have marine-typical equipment and are equipped with amphibious vehicles.

In general, the selected faction determines which weapons and vehicles you have access to. Some factions are also not playable on certain maps.

What does the new map look like? The Black Coast Map is a coastal landscape. In addition, the developers Offworld Industries improved the water mechanics in the game.

What’s up with the amphibious vehicles? Previously, vehicles in the game could only drive over land. With the update, however, the waterway is now also unlocked for vehicles.

The new amphibious vehicles allow you to travel in deeper waters where normal vehicles cannot.

What new weapons are there? As additions to the weapon arsenal, there are the M16 and M27 assault rifles and the M38 DMR, M249 SAW and M240 machine guns. The SMAW rocket launcher has also been available since the update.

How’s Squad doing on Steam right now? Squad is an absolute hit on Steam. The reviews are very positive. The shooter is popular in the community both in terms of the last 30 days and overall (90% positive with 79,581 reviews as of June 25, 2022).
