Lost Ark: Amazon kicks Yosz Krug out of the June update

The next major update for Lost Ark will be released on June 30th. However, a promised feature falls flat because you don’t have to wait for Yosz Krug.

Yosz initially keeps his pitcher to himself

In a new blog post detailing the features of the upcoming patch, Amazon explains that Yosz Krug isn’t coming into play after all – at least not this month.

The pitcher should have brought a new skin system into play. Epic and legendary cosmetics obtained through the jar could have increased attack power by even a few percent.

Royal Crystals should allow players to purchase Yosz Krug cosmetics. You get the currency by exchanging it for gold. So you didn’t even have to spend real money for the contents of the jar.

Amazon doesn’t risk pay-to-win allegations

However, since the items from the jar would have been quite expensive and would have been quite costly for free-to-play players despite the gold option, Amazon decided against publishing them.

Especially the little extra with the status improvements could have been seen by players as a pay-to-win – Amazon wanted to avoid that badly.

“We didn’t want players to feel like the skins in Yoz’ jug were necessary for gameplay, especially when constrained by a significant money or in-game currency barrier, so we decided to removing Yoz’s jug and skins from the Wrath of the Coveting Legion update,” the publisher said.

“Flexibility and fairness to players have always been driving forces in the partnership between our teams as we work to ensure players can enjoy and play Lost Ark the way they see fit.”

Instead of Yosz Krug, you can now look forward to a few gifts that Amazon will send you to celebrate the update. You can choose between upgrade materials or a Mokoko skin chest.
