Asus ROG Phone 6: Leaked images show massive fan

With the ROG Phone series, Asus regularly launches smartphones specially designed for gaming. These have plug-in fans, with the help of which the gaming smartphones can run under full load for longer periods of time. Leaked images of the Asus ROG Phone 6 now show a fan of an unprecedented size.

The images of the Asus ROG Phone 6 come from the well-known leaker Evan Blass and 91 mobiles. The render images show, among other things, the gaming smartphone with an official, attachable fan. The fan, which also has RGB elements, is huge on the Asus ROG Phone 6 and apparently covers more than half of the device’s back.

A massive fan could also be necessary for the built-in processor

At first glance, the huge fan of the Asus ROG Phone 6 may seem oversized, but good cooling may be necessary when gaming. Because the gaming smartphone contains the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, which is known for getting quite hot under full load. Good cooling ensures that the processor does not overheat or throttle itself at high temperatures (“throttling”).

Powerful hardware and a long-lasting battery

In addition to the Snapdragon processor, the Asus ROG Phone 6 has other strong hardware that is perfect for gaming. The AMOLED display is 6.78 inches and runs with a refresh rate of up to 165 Hertz. When it comes to working memory, users can choose configurations with up to 18 GB RAM, the internal memory is up to 512 GB. The battery has a capacity of 5,850 mAh and can be quickly charged with 65 watts via a cable.

The official launch of the Asus ROG Phone 6 will take place on July 5th. Asus has not yet revealed how much money the gaming smartphone will cost. It is also currently unclear whether the fan is included with the Asus ROG Phone 6 or whether it is an optional accessory.
