Sony recently announced that TV series based on some of its most popular franchises are in the works. One of these projects is a netfix series for Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West. A leak and an official entry in a database reveal the first details.

Horizon series probably offers new content

This is the name of the series: Journalist and insider Jeff Grubb has already revealed it in advance, but now we have further evidence: The Netflix production will probably be named Horizon 2074 wear. You can find out what that tells us about the story further down in the article.

This new clue comes from an entry on the site DGC (Directors Guild of Canada). Here is a list of some of the people involved in the project, including an assistant director from The Boys (Jack Boem) and a creative director from The Expanse (Michele Brady). Unfortunately, we don’t know who will slip into the roles of Aloy and Co. and whether the well-known characters from the games will even appear in the series. Shooting takes place in Toronto.

Horizon is coming to VR soon. You can watch the trailer for the new VR offshoot here:

Alleged information about the story: Grubb shares more behind-the-scenes insights on his GrubbSnax podcast (via giant bomb). Grubb wants to know that Horizon 2074 will not be a reboot or a reinterpretation, but rather a continuation of the events, with a focus on aspects that are still unexplored. There should be two timelines: one in the time of Aloy and another that shows us the end of the world.

More news on the topic:

But why 2074? Aloy’s era begins in the game approximately 1,000 years after the extinction of mankind, which took place between 2064 and 2068. So the big question is what story should we be told in 2074 when the apocalypse has long since happened here. If we believe Grubbs, it sounds like the series’ erasure will be delayed by a couple of years.

But beware: This information has not yet been officially confirmed and you should therefore treat it with caution.

Do you have specific wishes for the Horizon series?
