In Destiny 2, an old Exotic surprisingly dominates the hardcore PvP "Trials of Osiris" - time for explanations

Anyone who was out and about in Destiny 2 hardcore PvP “Trials of Osiris” this weekend immediately noticed: The old weapon exotic “No Time for Explanations” from Beyond Light surprisingly dominated a large part of the matches. MyMMO has time for explanations and tells you exactly why this pulse rifle is so surprisingly powerful now and how you can get it.

This is the new meta in hardcore PvP: After Bungie made some adjustments in Season 17, it’s now clear that Pulse Rifles are the big winners of Season 17.

How strong and dominant you could experience this weekend in the “Trials of Osiris”. The pulse rifle “No time for explanations” caused a total of almost 2 million Guardian kills there in one weekend.

Pulse Rifles dominated the Trials weekend of June 24-28.

The weapon exotic that came into play with Beyond Light via the Season 12 Pass currently benefits from the Season 17 general buff for Pulse Rifles.

Until then, pulse rifles could never really compete with weapon types like handguns, let alone take their top spot in PvP weapon rankings.

What makes the No Time to Explain Pulse Rifle so powerful? Basically, the aggressive pulse rifle that fires automatically was never really bad in Destiny 2.

Guardians could use it to down their opponents with just 2 salvos. The TTK of No Time To Explain is still 0.67 seconds. In addition, the range is also right, so you can fight over long distances and surprise opponents with high damage.

The No Time To Explain Exotic came to Destiny 2 in 2020 with the Beyond Light DLC.

Now, after the changes introduced in Season 17, the Guardians have realized that this weapon’s strengths have become even more effective.

  • Pulse Rifles got a small buff in Season 17.
    • They now do slightly increased damage for more kills with fewer critical hits required.
  • In addition, the new “airborne effectiveness” means that fewer handguns and more pulse rifles are used.
    • In general, while most weapons are now more accurate in the air, you’re also much less likely to get headshots.
  • The missing Icarus Grip mod is less relevant to the No Time to Explain exotic.
  • And the Seasonal Artifact also offers players a Pulse Rifle Aim Mod, making it easier than ever to efficiently use the No Time to Explain exotic.

The exotic trait provides another benefit: The weapon provides its wielder with a small “time dimension turret” via the exo-perk “rewind again” that fires at enemies on its own, and is also advantageous when reloading. Because enemies affected by stasis or slowed down as well as precise hits lead your bullets directly back into the magazine. If you also have the catalyst, projectiles from the time portal will fire more frequently.

Other pulse rifles also benefit from this: The changes also allowed the Kurz und Knapp pulse rifle to claim second place in the hardcore mode of the trials. The Legendary Pulse Rifle came into play with Season of the Risen and, with the right perks, offers equally impressive range, accuracy, and excellent stability.

The Short and Short Pulse Rifle from Season 16.

Previously, the Master version of the Trials Pulse Rifle, The Messenger, was a strong PvP favorite with Wardens. But after Bungie nerfed that weapon’s best perk, Desperado, it just isn’t the same anymore.

This is how pulse rifles dominated the trials weekend from June 24th to 28th:

  • “No Time to Explain”, 340 Fire Rate – 1,741,446 kills (5%)
  • “Short and Sweet”, 540 Fire Rate – 1,415,536 kills (4%)
  • “BxR-55 Striker”, 450 fire rate – 551,094 kills (2%)
  • “The Messenger” (Adept), 340 fire rate – 500,958 kills (1%)

How do you get the No Time to Explain Exotic? If you also want to prove yourself as a pulse rifle killer in PvP or the “Trials of Osiris”, then you should definitely get the Exotic from the “Beyond Light” DLC.

  • Players must own either the Digital Deluxe Edition or the Standard Edition plus Season Pass from Season 12 of the Beyond Light expansion to receive the weapon in 2022.
  • The weapon can then be unlocked with the Catalyst via a campaign quest from the Stranger Exo on the icy moon of Europa.

Have you already recognized the newfound advantages of the “No time for explanations” pulse rifle, or perhaps even used it eagerly and had fun with it? Then tell us about your experiences and tips with this exotic weapon in the comments.
