TRAINEE EDITOR FOR GAMING-CULTURE (m/f/d) MeinMMO.de

What kind of job is that? As a trainee editor for gaming culture, you will be well informed about everything that is happening in the gaming scene. You know what gamers talk about and where communities form. Who are the newcomers to gaming on Twitch and Tiktok? What do the biggest gaming influencers say about a new game release? In the gaming bubble, why is fish finger pizza trending on Twitter? Where does gaming influence our society?

WHAT YOU CAN LOOK FORWARD TO:

• In close coordination with the editor-in-chief, you will help plan editorial reporting
• You research, write and edit articles such as news, columns and interviews
• We’ll teach you how to optimize and refine articles according to the latest SEO and web publishing insights
• You mainly engage with the gaming scene and gaming personalities on Twitter, Twitch, reddit, YouTube and Tiktok to find exciting stories there
• We encourage you to give feedback on our work processes and procedures at an early stage and to actively help shape and improve them
• We’ll show you how to use tools to analyze data to understand why we write or don’t write certain articles and how you can use it to improve your own articles
• Intensive and above all practical training in journalistic work for the web with a focus on gaming and gaming culture

WHAT WE CAN LOOK FORWARD TO:

• You are enthusiastic about the gaming scene and everything that goes beyond pure video games, you are interested in the person behind the games
• You are no stranger to people like Gnu, Gronkh, xQc, Shurjoka, Asmongold, Pokimane, Faker or Amouranth (you know the main gaming personalities from Twitch and social media, from e-sports and you know what makes them special)
• Complex topics do not deter you and you enjoy familiarizing yourself with them and understanding them
• You like to approach others openly and you have no problem contacting someone for an interview
• You have a good sense of language, excellent knowledge of German and very good knowledge of English
• You bring great ambition to further develop your texts and skills
• You like varied work, as no two days are the same in web journalism
• Practical experience in the media sector is an advantage. Whether on a fan page, a blog, social media or Twitch (but this is not a must for this position)
