Coming soon to Steam: Beneath the Mountain is a dwarven city builder

from Michael Miskulin
Beneath the Mountain is a dwarf city builder that should play as quickly and easily as the classic Dungeon Keeper.

The indie game Beneath the Mountain takes the player into the depths of the mountains where he has to build a dwarf mine in the best dungeon keeper manner. As the king of a new dwarven civilization, this is how you dig for wealth, encounter dark dangers, and fight back against orc hordes.

Steam insider tip: City building on steep mountains now later and with a new trailer

Beneath the Mountain: That’s Dungeon Keeper, isn’t it?

The first look at Beneath the Mountain evokes classic dungeon keeper moments: the player marks large blocks of rock, whereupon his own dwarf henchmen rush there and carry away the earth, making room for the dwarf city. When digging, you can find gold, silver, and other resources that you can then invest in constructing buildings, recruiting an army, and constructing traps. Because in the depths of the mountains dark dangers and wild orc hordes lurk who want to destroy the newly created kingdom.

Beneath the Mountain presents itself as a real-time strategy game in an isometric 3D view. The developers want the title to be seen as a casual game – so it’s actually more Dungeon Keeper than Dwarf Fortress. So you will be able to pause the game easily and get back into it quickly. Because the central gameplay elements such as expanding the dwarf kingdom, constructing buildings and training your own army should be done quickly. The entire event even extends over several mine levels. Whether the Beneath the Mountain can really keep up with the classic gameplay of Dungeon Keeper, we will probably only know when the title is released on Steam soon. In any case, a first demo of Beneath the Mountain is already available.
