Escape from Tarkov: Update brings FSR, new bosses, offline co-op and more

A few days ago, Escape from Tarkov received its latest update, which brought with it a multitude of innovations. In addition to gameplay modifications and the usual reset of the game progress, there are also technical innovations. AMD’s FSR upscaling technology can now be used in the title from Battlestate Games, although unfortunately it is not the new version 2.0, but still FSR 1.0.

There are several innovations on the gameplay side. The location at the lighthouse has been expanded and players can now get to the island with the lighthouse. There are also three new bosses. The former officers of the Rogues, an ex-USEC-PMC group, work together and have individual strengths that they use in battle. Their leader, Knight, coordinates their actions and is an assault trooper. Birdeye, on the other hand, tends to work at a distance and lay traps, while Big Pipe favors explosive weapons and direct confrontations.

They constantly exchange information throughout the game and work together tactically, so a sighting by a boss means everyone will learn of the appropriate location and act. They use all available weapons and are not allied with anyone. Killing them does not change player reputation.

An offline co-op mode has been added for buyers of the Edge of Darkness pre-order edition. This has the same settings as its online counterpart, but does not save progress and equipment cannot be lost. You can spawn together or classic like in online mode. There are also many optimizations for e.g. B. the movements that have been completely revised, new daily tasks for the players, some new weapons, additional slots for special items, new camouflages, recipes and much more.
