Games are disappearing from PlayStation Plus, and it's also time for a new Switch

We’re kicking off July with a brand new episode of Newscast! And after a month full of presentations, demos, free games and the like, you could almost think that the world of video games had calmed down a bit. But no, Martin, Alex and Ana don’t let that deter them, because last week there was also a lot of cause for confusion, curiosity and yes, of course, excitement.

Sony in particular caused confusion. Because just a few weeks after the launch of the new PS Plus subscription models, the first titles are already flying out. Shadow Warrior 3 and Syberia got it – do we really have to look forward to such a short longevity in PS Plus Extra set, or is there something else behind this action? In addition, with the many services, the question arises as to how consumer behavior is now changing and whether all services really offer the same thing – just with different company names in the title.

On top of that, last week wasn’t entirely free of showcases either. In addition to the presentation of Star Ocean: The Divine Force, a mini direct from Nintendo was also released. Not only were there a lot of new announcements here, but also a very special title that fits perfectly with the Switch and is finally coming out on it. Yes, that also applies to Persona 5 Royal – but we’re talking about NieR: Automata. Nevertheless, we can’t really be happy about it, because we’d rather finally have a new generation that can also run third-party titles properly.

Last but not least, there is news that made Alex very sad: Blizzard is taking over a new studio that will be responsible for World of Warcraft in the future. You can find out what’s so sad about it in the video (or in the podcast). Enjoy listening! As always, we look forward to feedback and your suggestions for topics.

What would the next generation of Nintendo be called?
