Halo Infinite (Shooter) von Microsoft

After several postponements, this announcement is a first ray of hope for fans: Halo Infinite’s co-op mode will be tested in the Insider program for a week starting July 11th. The focus should be on network performance.

Ten day co-op test

From July 11th to July 22nd, 343 Industries will be testing the cooperative play mode for the Halo Infinite campaign. Anyone who owns the Halo Infinite campaign or has an active Xbox Game Pass subscription should be able to participate in the test. In order to participate, players must Xbox Insider Program to join.

Game progress for everyone

The four-player co-op was supposed to be released at the start of Season 2, but was then delayed again. But apart from the test date, no release date for the co-op campaign is known. The planned level editor “Forge” has not yet been released – and a release date is also not yet known.

in the Interview on the Halo Waypoint Blog Software Engineer Lead Isaac Bender and Lead World Designer John Mulkey talk about the co-op mode, which is intended to make the game progress seamlessly transferable for each of the four players involved.

The goal of the developers is that you can switch from single player to co-op mode. It should be possible for all players to take mission progress, collectibles, equipment, etc. with them. You no longer play “someone else’s game” but always your own score. Incidentally, it will not be playable in the test – for the ten-day test phase, players will have to create a new save.

Halo Infinite was released on December 8th, 2021 for PC and Xbox consoles.
