New MMORPG relies on pirates and ships, completely dispenses with land – will start the beta soon

Age of Water is an MMORPG in which you only move on the sea. The entire world was flooded, only every now and then a particularly high tower sticks out of the water. Your goal is survival. You fight against pirates, the adverse conditions and in the endgame against other players.

What kind of game is this? Age of Water is all about sea survival. You fight for the last resources, similar to the survival game Raft, but you sail through a completely open world and meet many other players.

The big focus of the game is of course on the ships. The developers promise dozens of basic models that you can then customize with your own components. Everything should be possible, from small motor boats to 30 meter boats with the most modern weapons.

• You explore the huge and open game world on your own ship.
• Various dangers await you on the sea, such as storms or pirates.
• You collect raw materials to improve your equipment, your ship and your weapons. You get these resources by completing quests, exploring shipwrecks or underwater cities, hunting pirates, or trading with other players.
• You can build your own base and should even be able to have production chains there like in a factory.
• The safe zones only have PvE content. PvP may occur outside of these zones. For example, there are missions in which you have to transport goods from one place to another. You can be attacked by other players.
• The game will get a German localization.

In addition, the developers indicate that it will probably be a rather difficult game. The first trailer said, “Age of Water is tough and unforgiving.”

When is the game out? So far, the developers have said neither a release date nor the exact financing model.

However, the start of registration for the closed beta has now been announced in a new and quite entertaining trailer:

How to join the beta? If you want to participate in the Age of Water beta, you can register for it on the official website (via AgeOfWater). There you have to work your way through a questionnaire.

The developers want to know what other games you play, what time you are active and what your hardware looks like.

However, registering for the closed beta is no guarantee that you can actually participate. The developers reserve the right to select the testers themselves, since the number of participants in the beta will be limited.

When does the beta take place? There is no information on this yet. The start date will be announced shortly.

However, the developers have already revealed that there will be an NDA on the beta. So there will be no videos or live streams. The focus is solely on feedback on the game.

Who is behind Age of Water? The MMORPG is implemented by Gaijin Entertainment, a Russian developer and publisher. They have already released the shooter Crossout and War Thunder, a war game with ships and planes.
