When is the update coming? The innovations are already online. The update came on the evening of June 30th.

How big is the update? It’s just a mini-update – you don’t need to download much, it even runs automatically on consoles when you log in.

What’s in the update? The focus of the update is the adjustments to the currently best weapons in Warzone. Almost every weapon that has been at the top of the meta food chain since the start of Season 4 has received a nerf. But there were also a few buffs:

  • NZ-41 – Nerf
    • Less damage from chest hits and nerfs to the Orbweaver barrel and Sakura ammo.
  • UGM-8 – Nerf
    • The recoilless salvo setup has been nerfed as well as the powerful Sakura ammo. The other ammo attachments have also been weakened, as well as the Bernard barrel.
  • H4 Bilxen – Nerf
    • First and second damage areas have been reduced.
  • Marco 5 – Nerf
    • Hip fire while crouching/prone has been nerfed, perfetto run gives less movement.
  • Vanguard Sniper – Buff
    • Three Line Rifle, Kar 98k and Type 99 have higher bullet velocity.
  • “Extended” Attachment – Nerf
    • Now only increases bullet speed by 8% instead of 10%.
  • MX Silencer – Nerf
    • Now only increases bullet speed by 12% instead of 15%.
  • M1941 hand stopper – Nerf
    • Recoil control is now only 3.5% instead of 4%.

In addition, there are now the lootable perks on Fortune’s Keep. Senior Creative Director of Warzone, Ted Timmins, once called this mechanic a “game changer” for Warzone and thus the most important gameplay change of Season 3 / 2022.

So you can now look out for the perks on the new map to upgrade your loadouts.

On top of that there were some bugfixes. This also includes the broken reloading of the H4 Blixen submachine gun. If you reloaded while sighted, it would take too long. However, there was no new information regarding the broken wall issues on Fortune’s Keep.

The latest changes could hit the weapon meta hard. The best weapons in Warzone have been all about ultra-low recoil and easy playability since the start of Season 4.

How the adjustments will affect cannot be said with certainty shortly after the update. But we’re keeping an eye on developments and revising our list of the best weapons in the Warzone as soon as possible.
