The Amazon MMORPG New World has changed a lot since its release in late September 2021. The developers at Amazon Games therefore shed light on the most important features and changes that now differentiate New World from the launch version.
The developers of New World have been working diligently on adjustments and new content for the world of Aeternum since the release of the MMORPG. The most important changes in New World since release
- Two new Expeditions: While we can now complete the main storyline with the “Heart of the Stormwind” expedition and stop Isabella, another dungeon will also be added with the upcoming Medleyfaire event update. This expedition is called “Barnacles and Gunpowder” and revolves around a dangerous band of pirates.
- Expedition mutators: So that the instances of New World remain challenging and exciting, there are now so-called mutators for some dungeons. These give opponents elemental damage and resistance, but also powerful new skills. There are also curse mutations that weaken the player character and force them to rethink. It’s all worth it, thanks to exclusive rewards.
- Two new weapons: The choice of Peacemakers in Aeternum was not small at launch, but players longed for even more playstyles that enabled weapons. Accordingly, there are now Doom Gauntlets, which function similarly to Frost Gloves. However, the Doom Gauntlets revolve around either magical melee combat or long-range debuffs and healing. If you don’t like it that magical, grab it blunderbuss. Depending on the talent tree, this acts like a grenade launcher or a shotgun.

- 3v3 PvP Arenas: This new mode for player battles relies on “best-of-5 duels” in which you can prove your skills as a trio. The arena gets smaller and smaller as time runs out – Battle Royale style.
- New way to get PvP rewards: PvP matches now earn you the PvP currency called Azoth Salts, which gives you specific rewards such as gear, faction tokens, gold, potions, emotes, and more! You can find more information about this in a special blog article by the developers.

Many small adjustments and comfort features
Apart from that, many small adjustments have found their way into the game. New types of opponents provide variety in the open world, the competency system determines how you get item levels above level 500. In addition, you are now faster on roads than in the wild, while you can finally open your inventory while running. Rank 1 ammo is infinite, fast travel is much cheaper, and starting with the upcoming July update, you won’t need keys to open dungeons anymore.
