The currently best-selling graphics card on Amazon is actually a processor – how can that be?
There are bestsellers in every category on Amazon. In the graphics cards, a processor has now made it to 1st place. But how can a processor be a top seller in the graphics card sector? MeinMMO explains what’s behind it.
What are these bestsellers? The retailer Amazon creates so-called “best sellers” for various products and categories. These numbers are based on most orders and are updated hourly by Amazon. It is therefore easy to identify which products are currently very popular with potential customers.
Amazon currently has a processor in first place in the graphics card category. But how does that work when processors and graphics cards are usually two different categories?

What kind of processor is that? The CPU is the Ryzen 5 5600G. This is a so-called APU. The abbreviation APU stands for “Accelerated Processing Unit” and for processors that have an additional chip in addition to the actual processor unit. This is often a graphics processor.
By the way, you will only find this term “APU” at AMD. Intel is now offering processors with a graphics chip again, but does not use the term “APU”. Therefore, if you read APU, you can assume that it is an AMD product.
Why is the Ryzen processor sold so often? The Ryzen 5 5600G is particularly suitable for people who are looking for a powerful processor for an office computer and do not want to buy a separate (dedicated) graphics card.
Another advantage is that such APUs fit on the normal processor sockets. If you later want to install a normal processor and graphics card, then you don’t have to swap the mainboard and the like. However, for 170 euros, the Ryzen 5 5600 G is a good deal if you don’t feel like investing thousands of euros in graphics cards:

Ryzen CPU is also sufficient for occasional gaming
What is the processor sufficient for? Such a processor is very suitable for very small computers, such as (mini)ITX cases, since you do not need a huge cooling system and do not have to calculate additional space for a graphics card.
A processor with a graphics unit is also sufficient in many cases for occasional gaming or older games. You can play both League of Legends and Diablo Immortal on such a processor without any problems.
When does the processor reach its limits? But if you want to gamble ambitiously and play modern top titles, then the graphics unit of the Ryzen 5 5600G will quickly reach its limits.
This is because AMD’s APUs do not have their own video memory. Instead, the processor has to use the system’s DDR4 RAM. This memory is not as fast as video memory. In addition, the graphics chip on a processor also offers significantly less performance than a dedicated chip in a real graphics card.
