Update to Hunt: Showdown - Next patch 1.9 with long list of changes

from Rhonda Bachman
Crytek has announced some changes and improvements for the stealth shooter Hunt: Showdown. These will be added to the game with patch 1.9, which can currently still be put through its paces on the test servers. Among other things, there should be an improved weapon balance and optimized matchmaking.

Hunt: Showdown has some significant changes coming up. These will be introduced with update 1.9. The next patch is currently under scrutiny on the test servers. It is not yet clear when the update will be played on the live servers. Patch 1.9 will improve server and client performance, optimize matchmaking and should also bring some changes to the game’s sound.

Hunt: Showdown with improved player movement and ping limit

One of the patch 1.9 changes is said to be improved player movement. In addition, Crytek has made improvements to the servers and the game client. Movements of your own hunter and your fellow players should now be reproduced much more accurately by the servers. Desync and the associated teleports should occur less.

A potentially more controversial change from update 1.9 is the introduction of a ping limit. This is set to 225 milliseconds and affects the regions that can be played in. The regions are divided into different colors. If a region exceeds the new ping limit, it will be hidden and the player will not be able to join it. Crytek states that they are working to ensure that all players have at least one region to connect to. Nobody should be completely excluded because of their location or a slow internet provider.

If you play together in a team, the host should be responsible for choosing the region. If someone in the party has a latency higher than the default 225 milliseconds, the group will get a pop-up that the game may be disrupted due to the high ping. However, the team can still play together.

In addition to these changes, there should also be improvements to weapon balancing, map adjustments and changes to the sound of shots. The developers are working on making it possible for players to tell by the sound whether a shot was fired indoors or outdoors, even over long distances.
