Twitch: Football event with Trymacs was a huge success – Lots of goals, penalties and 3 injured

Trymac's Knossi kick off

On Saturday, July 2nd, popular YouTuber and Twitch streamer Trymacs hosted a football event. He put together a team himself and played against Knossi and his team. The match was a huge success, both in terms of numbers and overall entertainment value.

What was that event? After the big Trymacs boxing event, there was a new sporting event on Saturday. The two Twitch streamers Trymacs and Knossi each put together a football team and then competed against each other in a match.

The teams included other streamers and YouTubers, celebrities like Steven Gätjen or footballers from the district league.

The game became a huge spectacle, also because the streamers came up with some special rules:

  • Three halves of 30 minutes each were played. This gave the streamers a little more pause within the match.
  • There were various challenges during the breaks. For a short time, around 3 celebrities played against 50 children, with the celebrities being mercilessly stripped off.
  • Despite a clear win, there was a penalty shootout at the end – just for fun.

Knossi and his team won the regular match, while the penalty shoot-out went to Trymacs. Both have already promised revenge, which is to be held in winter.

Who attended the event? In addition to the streamers Trymacs and Knossi, other well-known personalities from Twitch and YouTube were also present, including EilasN97 – currently the largest German streamer, MontanaBlack, Aaron Troschke, Inscope21 and UnsympathischTV.

There were also a number of celebrities, including Steven Gätjen, Pietro Lombardi, Gustav Schäfer (the drummer from Tokio Hotel) and Olivia Jones.

Six goals and three injured players

How did the match go? At 5:04 p.m. the ball was kicked off. The game was commented on by Robby Hunke, who also works for the sports show.

The match was mainly carried out by the district league players over long stretches. These were significantly fitter and technically stronger than the YouTubers, streamers and celebrities.

However, Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris stood out positively in the Trymacs goal. He had some good saves, so he was also referred to as Marcel Neuer in the Twitch chat. Despite this, he could not prevent his team’s defeat.

The Trymacs team was the first to take the lead and secured the lead into the first half-time break. But in the second half, Knossi equalized and took the lead. In the end Knossi won with his team 4:2.

During the game there were also unpleasant scenes:

  • Filip Pavlović was injured in the first half. He tore a muscle fiber in his thigh.
  • Steven Gätjen got it in the second half. He hurt his ankle, but nothing is broken.
  • Team Trymacs’ Paul was injured in the third half. He sustained an injury to his shoulder.

What were the challenges? In the first half-time break, there was a crossbar shooting. A spectator won along with Pietro Lombardi and got a jersey signed by Luka Modrić.

In the second half Knossi, Dave and Fritz Meinecke played against 50 kids. The kids clearly won 7-0.

There was also a penalty shootout at the end of the match. The Trymacs team won 4:1.

Over 140,000 concurrent viewers

How was the event received? During the football game, over 140,000 people watched the Peak simultaneously on the Trymacs Twitch channel. This makes the event the live stream with the most viewers worldwide on Saturday. He also overtook shoutcasts on the LEC in LoL, Rocket League, and Summer Games Done Quick.

Over the entire four hours, the event drew an average of over 104,000 spectators (via Sullygnome). This is also number 1 on Saturday and number 3 in the last 7 days. Knossi later also organized an “Aftershow Stream” with 68,550 viewers at Peak.

There were also hundreds of spectators on site and a lot of positive feedback in the comments. So it’s not surprising that the two streamers are already planning a rematch.

Hundreds of fans were in the stands.

For Trymacs, however, the football theme takes on even greater proportions. In the future, his team should play regularly in district class B, with mostly the same cast. He has already promised vlogs from training and live streams from the matches.

What do you say about this event? Did you follow the match or are you not interested in soccer?

In addition to the football event, Trymacs also has big plans for the game Clash of Clans. Because that’s what he’s destroying with his community:
