Baldur’s Gate 3: New patch and panel on the way

Baldur

Larian Studios provides us with an update regarding its RPG Baldur’s Gate 3, which is currently in Early Access. A new Panel From Hell and Patch 8 are already on the way.

The upcoming Panel From Hell, Larian’s regular showcase for new Baldur’s Gate 3 content, is scheduled to be held as early as July 7th at 7 p.m. You can follow it on the official Baldur’s Gate 3 homepage, where you’ll even find a countdown to the event, as well as on the developers’ official Twitch channel.

Baldur’s Gate 3: Patch 8 makes old saved games unusable

Since Panels From Hell usually coincides with new Baldur’s Gate 3 patches, it’s not surprising that Larian recently confirmed information about the game’s eighth update. As a result, old saves will become unusable with the next game version.

However, the team is maintaining the beta branches, so players can continue to use their old files if they so choose. However, this is only possible with the last two versions, i.e. patches 6 and 7. The developers will also explain how you can play on an older version of Baldur’s Gate 3 on the relevant Steam page.

Whole 40 gigabytes in size

While we don’t know exactly what to expect in Baldur’s Gate 3 patch 8, we can at least be sure of one thing: the update to version eight must be something bigger. Past patches brought pretty much the full range of changes, from fresh story content to new areas to explore to new playable classes. This time, too, the chances for more massive content are good, because Patch 8 is a whopping 40 gigabytes in size.

This increases the total size of Baldur’s Gate 3 to a whopping 104 gigabytes, which it costs us in storage space. But if you consider that Larian wants to navigate the game out of the safe haven of the early access phase as early as 2023, the more content-heavy updates only seem logical. Most recently, it was even confirmed that the gnomes should be a playable people in the third part.
