Blizzard cleverly alludes to their most famous ex-pro in Overwatch 2 — but it’s a bit gross

An Overwatch 2 beta player spotted a toenail reference to popular Twitch streamer Felix “xQc” Lengyel (26). He used to be a pro himself in Overwatch 1 and has a special relationship with his toenails.

What does the xQc reference look like in Overwatch 2? In the video on reddit the viewer hears the character Junkrat say in English:

You look like a gentleman eating his own toenails!

When asked why Junkrat said that, he simply replies: “I’m just looking for something that we might have in common…”

For people who don’t recognize the reference, this may seem a bit strange at first. But that also applies to Junkrat, because he’s clearly weird.

That’s behind xQc’s toenail reference in Overwatch 2

Who is xQc? Canadian streamer xQc was a pro in Overwatch in 2016. However, his career was short-lived, as he kept attracting attention with inappropriate behavior. With 10.9 million followers, he is now considered one of the most internationally successful Twitch streamers.

In addition to Overwatch, he also plays games like CS:GO or Fall Guys on his channel. For example, he has already opened CS:GO loot boxes in his streams.

What’s the deal with the reference? With this statement, the Overwatch 2 beta seems to be referring to a strange quirk of the successful Twitch streamer xQc.

xQc is known for doing one thing over and over again in his Twitch streams: he has been chewing his toenails several times in his streams. An example can be found here YouTube be considered.

He also published a post about it on Twitter:

“I really can’t stop chewing or picking on my fingers or my toes every 10 seconds. I do it automatically […]”

Junkrat’s statement is therefore very likely a reference to the former Overwatch professional player and his peculiarity when it comes to toenails.
