Apple’s streaming service is currently free on the PS5 and PS4.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. That might be a bit of an exaggeration when we’re talking about entertainment media, but Sony and Apple are teaming up and that brings you a great benefit: six months of Apple TV Plus free.

The only requirement: You must own a PS5, of which unfortunately there are still relatively few devices on the market. Anyone who was able to get hold of one of the consoles will now also be rewarded for their luck. If you own a PS4, you still get three months free (via Apple).

It’s all about this: Somehow, Sony’s new design philosophy, which was heralded with the PlayStation 5, is a little reminiscent of Apple’s products: Lots of white and a touch of extravagance. So it fits quite well that you now get Apple’s streaming service with a PS5 free of charge for half a year.

This is how you do it: To be able to use the service, all you have to do is download and start the Apple TV app on the PS5 or PS4. Of course, you need a PlayStation Network account and an Apple ID to start the subscription. If you have one, enter it, otherwise you can create a profile directly and you’re good to go.

Apple TV Plus offers these shows: Apple TV Plus undercuts the price of most other streaming plans. Accordingly, the service does not include quite as many expensive in-house productions as Netflix, for example, but can score with some high-quality shows.
