It Takes Two: Double the fun for half the price is available on Steam for a limited time

You can pick up last year’s Game of the Year for a fraction of the full price until July 7th. The ingenious co-op game on Steam is discounted a full 60 percent.

With It Takes Two everything is just right

If you don’t know It Takes Two yet, you should urgently make a date, because the title didn’t win the GOTY Award and the Steam award for the best co-op game for nothing. I was extremely enthusiastic about the game, as you can read in the test. Hazelight’s title definitely earned our gold medal.

Why is? A little girl wishes that her quarreling parents would not divorce and whoops they turn into little dolls and have to find their way back to their daughter. As tiny figures, the supposedly cute squirrels or the broken, vengeful vacuum cleaner become enemies that can only be defeated with good teamwork.

A wacky book, with an excessive need to communicate, helps the divorced couple mend their relationship. In pairs, the players slip into the role of Cody or May and receive their own abilities, which often have to be used in combination to overcome obstacles or fight opponents.

Even if the two are at loggerheads and showered with accusations, the love for their daughter is greater and the two experience an incredibly funny journey. There are many new things to discover in every room and in the garden – of course, the two are confronted with huge cuddly toys, building blocks, hammers and frogs – but also many beautiful memories that were almost forgotten.

Everyday objects are humanized in a grandiose way and, like the vacuum cleaner, even elicit some pity here and there, while the fear of wasps is raised to an unprecedented level. The humor and the variety in the many levels is just great. The 15 hours just flew by for me. I definitely intend to play the game again.

Especially those who like a few small puzzles will have a lot of fun with It Takes Two. The only important thing is that you have a player number two. You cannot play the title alone. Luckily, only one of the two players needs to own the title. So you saved three times over.

On Steam you currently only have to 15.99 euros instead of paying the full 39.99 euros and you can go on the adventurous journey as a couple. The game is still reduced until Thursday. Once you’ve caught up on the game, you’ll also be happy to know that a film based on It Takes Two is already in the works.
