A short teaser video was included with the message, but it only shows a searchlight passing over the NBA 2K23 logo. Meanwhile, gaming publication Realsport wants multiple sports outlets have experienced that Phoenix Suns player Devin Booker will grace the cover of NBA 2K23. The almost two meter tall shooting guard is a three-time NBA All-Star, last year he reached the NBA Finals with his club.

NBA 2K23: Microtransactions and Pay2Win?

With the 2023 edition of its NBA simulation, developer and publisher 2K has a lot to make up for. The press has already attested NBA 2K20 Casino and Pay2Win elements, while many Steam players also accuse the current 2022 variant of being an exact copy of the predecessor NBA 2K21. Furthermore, the lack of a next-gen upgrade is criticized, which the users of the Valve platform around the release period punished with the overall rating “Mostly negative”. As of July 2022, NBA 2K22 does have that “Balanced” rating achieved, but the more recent reviews often repeat shortcomings from the year of publication. So far, 2K has unveiled the latest part of the NBA 2K series in July of the respective year of publication – the last two editions were released in September. The predecessor is available for all common consoles, the PC and in Apple’s subscription service Arcade.
