Riders Republic: Wildfire Dangers Live Event will take place later this year

At the end of the year there will be an event in Riders Republic to raise awareness of the dangers of wildfires.

To raise awareness of the dangers of wildfires, there will be a short but intense live event in the Riders Republic game.

However, the event is not announced very well. Players are simply confronted with the fires blazing at the edges of the game map upon launching the game, as game director Boris Maniora says.

Players visually perceive the fires through an orange colored sky and smoke. Also, players will automatically wear a gas mask and the game’s danger area will be inaccessible as you can’t breathe there.

The game’s menus are also given a special reskin and the social hub is “on alert”.

In the live event, players are meant to work together, with two things being most important:

• First, players must identify the most sensitive and flammable areas of Sequoia National Park (e.g. using photo mode, which displays real-world data that is automatically integrated into players’ photos in those areas, e.g. the extent of past wildfires, forecasts for future fires, the “level of danger”, etc.).
• Then they must reduce the risk of fire spreading in Sequoia National Park through joint activities (e.g. “clean up” the forest path/brushwood/cuttings or protect the trees with aluminum foil on the trunks).

The event should take place at the end of the year at the earliest.
