The Sword Art Online MMO we’ve all been waiting for finally arrives this month
The MMORPG “Noah’s Heart” is officially playable from the end of July and makes for fans of Sword Art Online is a dream come true: it creates a world very similar to that of the anime.
At the end of June 2020, the developers Archosaur Games announced the MMORPG and showed the first trailer. The beta started in December 2021. Android users can download the finished game from July 14, 2022, and PC players from July 28.
What kind of game is this? In the free fantasy MMORPG you create a character and explore the planet Noah.
The MMO offers this content:
- Detailed character creation
- Your character is not tied to a class
- You fight with sword and shield, bow, dual blades or a spear, but you can switch
- An open world with five different continents
- Interaction with real players or NPCs
How is it similar to SAO? At first glance, the world of Noah’s Heart seems to have a lot in common with that of SAO. From a purely visual point of view, the two games are comparable due to the colorful anime graphics in an open fantasy setting.
The story is similar too. The virtual environment in Noah’s Heart was created by a mysterious construct that just calls itself “Cube”. As the story progresses, players can find out exactly what Cube’s purpose is and why it created this world. As in the anime series SAO, the world of Noah’s Heart is “virtual”.

What other content does it offer?
- In addition, Noah granted‘s Heart numerous ways to get around in the game world. For example, through mounts, trains, ships, motorcycles and helicopters.
- There are at least three crafting options to choose from: cooking, blacksmithing, and tailoring
- Real-Life-Sim: The MMO values role-playing
- Within the story you make decisions that actually have consequences. For example, you can let NPCs die and the story continues for you in a completely different way than for your fellow players.
Who is the game suitable for? Sword Art Online fans will probably love Noah’s Heart. But even players who haven’t seen the anime (yet) might like the MMORPG. If you like colorful graphics and anime style, you’re definitely in the right place.
MMO fans who value the story should also take a look at Noah’s Heart. The interactive story, which is influenced by your decisions, contrasts with many other games where the story is rather secondary.
