Monster Hunter Rise: Every fifth player has bought Sunbreak

The Monster Hunter Rise expansion has been available since June 30th. Already in the first two weeks, Sunbreak sold over 2 million copies and gave the base game a real boost.

The sun is rising for Monster Hunter

Monster Hunter Rise itself has now sold 10 million copies around the world. This means that 20 percent of all players – i.e. one in five – bought the expansion. On the day of Sunbreak’s release, the DLC broke the record for concurrent players for Monster Hunter Rise. With 194,459 concurrent players trumped the old one Steam recordwhich totaled 134,262 players during PC launch week.

The Monster Hunter series has now sold 84 million units. Nevertheless, Monster Hunter World is Capcom’s best-selling game with 21 million games sold – followed by Resident Evil 7, which sold 10.8 million copies by the end of March 2022. Monster Hunter Rise is sure to come along. Especially if it can now be seen more often in the sale.
