RDR2 and more - DLSS2FSR mod: game support is expanding

from Rhonda Bachman
PotatoOfDoom’s FSR mod is currently making waves. The modder recently added support for AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 to Cyberpunk 2077 and speculated that it could be implemented in other games as well. Other modders are now using his work to add FSR 2.0 to other games.

Cyberpunk 2077 received support for AMD’s upscaling technology Fidelity FX Super Resolution (FSR) with patch 1.5. However, only support for FSR 1.0 was added, not for the much better version FSR 2.0. The implementation was recently taken over by the modder “PotatoOfDoom” and was convinced that his work could also be applied to other games. Other modders are now using its framework to apply FSR 2.0 to a wide variety of titles.

Modders use work for RDR2, Dying Light 2 or Guardians of the Galaxy

Based on PotatoOfDoom’s mod for Cyberpunk 2077, FSR 2.0 has been applied to Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2, among others. As the responsible modder “RealIndica” writes, the modification brings performance increases similar to those of DLSS and also promises improved visual fidelity. In addition, the mod should be perfect for users who have problems running the game in the native resolution on a non-RTX graphics card.

Dying Light 2 was also given an FSR 2.0 mod. As some users found out on Reddit, this mod can easily be transferred to other titles. For example, a Reddit member just used the Dying Light 2 mod on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. According to Reddit users, other titles could also simply benefit from the mod, including Death Stranding, Metro Exodus and Call of Duty Warzone. However, for the latter game, it is not recommended to use the mod as it could trigger the anti-cheat measures.

The mod should also work with other games, including God of War, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Deathloop or Farming Simulator 2022. However, these titles all already support FSR 2.0 natively. According to Reddit users, it actually makes little sense to apply the mod to these titles as well.
