The Lord of the Rings: Gollum: First gameplay trailer revealed

New trailer for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum reveals first gameplay at NACON Connect.

Daedalic Entertainment and NACON are pleased to unveil the first gameplay footage of their story-driven adventure The Lord of the Rings: Gollum – Daedalic’s take on one of the most iconic characters in fantasy history, coming September 1st for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One , Xbox Series X|S. The Nintendo Switch version is planned for later this year.

Gollum is perhaps the most reviled and misunderstood creature in all of Middle-earth, cursed, dual-personalized and in constant compulsion to find his Preciousss. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum takes players on an extraordinary journey and shares Gollum’s unique perspective.

Whether sneaking through tall grass or swimming in rivers, Gollum must adapt and move in the shadows if he is to evade his enemies throughout his adventure. From the mountains of Mordor to the mines of Moria and the forest of Mirkwood, players will explore a variety of different environments and experience an immersive narrative adventure. Starting September 1st, you can experience this original story developed by Daedalic Entertainment and officially licensed by Middle-earth Enterprises.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is based on JRR Tolkien’s legendary The Lord of the Rings trilogy and chronicles Gollum’s behind-the-scenes experiences in the first chapters of The Fellowship of the Ring. After losing his precious ring to Bilbo Baggins, Gollum decides to leave the Misty Mountains and embark on a perilous journey across Middle-earth, encountering familiar characters from the books as well as new potential allies and enemies.

It’s up to the players whether they want Gollum to have the upper hand in important decisions or let his hobbit self, Sméagol, take precedence. To survive the dangers he encounters on his adventures, Gollum must use all his cunning to distract and sneak past his enemies while climbing through the vertically designed environments and clambering onto platforms.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is developed by Daedalic Entertainment in association with Middle-earth Enterprises and co-published by Daedalic Entertainment and NACON. The game will be released for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. A physical edition for consoles will also be available.
