WoW: Method will no longer use ElvUi in Dragonflight progression
The ElvUI add-on package offers WoW players many quality-of-life features, but sometimes also leads to FPS drops. Raid Guild Method has decided not to use ElvUi in Dragonflight during the World First Race. But that doesn’t mean the addon is bad.
That WoW addon ElvUI is very popular among WoW players because it combines several addons in one and at the same time makes the whole interface more user-friendly. Instead of several addons, you simply download ElvUi and then have many useful customization options at hand. It’s also useful because you don’t have to keep dozens of addons up to date.
In some situations, however, a data package as large as that from ElvUi causes problems. ElvUi caused massive FPS drops for some Shadowlands raid bosses. However, the exact reason for this is not known. The raid guild Method (2nd place in the World First Race for the Mausoleum of the First) has decided not to take any more risks and has for the upcoming Dragonflight expansion issued the rule that raiders do not use ElvUi during progress time.

Method’s decision should not affect other players
As can be seen in the picture above, this information comes from the twitch chat of method player Andybrew, who has set up a chat command for his viewers that answers the question of why ElvUI will no longer be used in progress in the future.
Method raid leader dijohn made it clear on Twitter that other players should not be influenced by this decision. ElvUI continues to be a very good addon and players shouldn’t turn away from it because of a special decision by a top raiding guild. Once the bosses of the current raid are defeated, Method players will also fall back on ElvUi. Do you use the addon and were you plagued by severe FPS drops in Shadowlands raids?
