Dragon Ball Super Super Hero: Piccolo changes color and Akira Toriyama explains why
Piccolo is the coolest, as all Dragon Ball fans know.
Dragon Ball is back on the big screen soon. The new feature film Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is finally more about Piccolo this time. Among other things, a new, genuine transformation is imminent and, accordingly, a decent power-up. That was already visible, but otherwise we know little about the new stage. But series creator Akira Toriyama is finally revealing some exciting details about how and why.

Piccolo finally in focus: For what feels like an eternity, Piccolo has been one of the fan favorites in the Dragon Ball universe who are sorely neglected. He’s lived on the fringes of events for a long time, but that’s about to change with the upcoming feature film, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. Piccolo even gets a whole new transformation in it:

This is what the transformation is called: In a statement by Akira Toriyama himself, he not only explains that Piccolo is his favorite character. He also reveals the name of his new power-up and what it’s all about. It’s “probably the first time he’s had a real transformation.” she calls herself Orange piccolo.
That’s why she looks like this: Because Piccolo doesn’t have any hair that could stand on end, he was portrayed as really fit. But even that alone probably wouldn’t be enough to make the transformation clear, so Piccolo changes color to a shade of orange. Nevertheless, it is sometimes still difficult to distinguish the normal form from the new one.
On a level with Son Goku? According to Akira Toriyama, Piccolo’s new transformation stage even ensures that the Namek no longer has to hide behind Son Goku and Vegeta, but can probably keep up with even the strongest Dragon Ball heroes:
“Maybe I should have done it a bit more over-the-top, but personally I’m just happy that he’s finally gained a fighting power that’s on par with Goku and co.”

What’s the name? Last but not least, series creator Akira Toriyama talks about the name of this new transformation and form of Piccolo. That would sound a lot like something Piccolo would make up himself. After all, he was simply “not good at naming things.” But he has a really cute phone case. Unfortunately, an official date for the theatrical release in Germany has not yet been set.
