Monsters & Memories is an MMORPG currently under development. A team of 10 people is working on it, including the lead designer of the classic EverQuest. Now they publish current information. We at MeinMMO summarize.

Monsters & Memories is currently in the so-called “Proof of Concept” phase. The developers of Niche Worlds Cult are transparent and list everything they have been working on monthly.

What kind of game is this? Monster & Memories aims to bring back the old-school feel to MMORPGs that has been lost over the years, according to the developers. In itself, the game offers a classic fantasy setting in the Middle Ages and throws you into a world full of gnomes and elves.

Monsters & Memories also features:

  • 12 different races and 18 different classes
  • Fixed classes that you cannot change
  • An open world
  • Focus on group content – You can also play solo, but the game recommends a group
  • underworld, heaven, hell

Absolutely old school with a few modern features

What’s new? In early July 2022, the development team published it on their website a long list of updates and ideas. They show what the characters will look like and post all sorts of sketches and models.

We also learn some interesting news about the game:

  • Equipment allows you to customize your character. You carry a backpack, belt, books, lanterns and other items for a walk. Alternatively, you can hide all of them.
  • One of the races will be jackals
  • There are concepts for ghouls, gargoyles and giants. However, they do not say whether they are playable or appear as opponents.
  • A weather system
  • You can visit night markets

How much does the MMORPG cost? The exact price is not yet known, but we do know that there will be a subscription system. The developers want to do without Pay2Win entirely and only offer outfits and skins. They are then used to support the indie developers, but should not give them any advantage in the game.

Who is Monsters & Memories suitable for? The developers want to address a niche with the MMORPG and are aware that they will not reach fans of modern MMOs.

Monsters & Memories is aimed at players who miss the times and want to discover a new old MMORPG full of nostalgia in their hearts. “We are developing a game that is not intended for everyone,” explains Niche Worlds Cult on their website.

When is Monsters & Memories coming out? When the MMORPG will appear is still completely unclear. As soon as there is news, we will inform you about it.
