Buy a graphics card: Geforce prices from RTX 3080 12GB in a nosedive

Gardena now up to 47% cheaper: robot lawn mower, hose box, watering, square sprinkler at Amazon

Unfortunately, you couldn’t buy a graphics card at an absolute bargain price from Amazon during Prime Day week. Nevertheless, the week is turbulent as far as the price development of some Geforce graphics cards is concerned. At retailers like Mindfactory, some prices are downright nosedive. The courses for the cheapest Geforce offers went down to 170 euros. If you want to buy a powerful graphics card that has at least the GPU Geforce RTX 3080 with 12GB graphics memory, you can look forward to big discounts compared to the previous week, as our GPU market overview from Geforce RTX 3050 to RTX 3090 Ti shows. Does the price slide have to do with a rumored price cut by Nvidia?

How have the prices of the RTX 30 series graphics cards developed?

If you want to buy a graphics card with one of the currently fastest Geforce GPUs, you can be happy. The cheapest offer for a Geforce RTX 3080 12GB is a whopping 150 euros below the previous week, if you include the 20 euros cashback that you currently get from Gigabyte. The prices are also falling for the Geforce RTX 3090, also around 150 euros, and the RTX 3090 Ti, which is even 170 euros off the previous week. It is not yet clear whether this is related to the rumored reduction in the RRP by Nvidia or whether this has already taken place and has been passed on – more on this later in the article.

Nvidia: Price reduction for RTX 3080 Ti and Co. coming?

There is a report from Asia that Nvidia will officially drop prices for fast cards like the Geforce RTX 3080 Ti later this week. The RTX 3090 Ti is actually already being sold at a significantly lower price. As the Chinese website Benchlife reports, there may be an official price reduction this week, even if the timing is not yet certain. If you look at the German Nvidia website, you can still see the Founders Edition prices from January 2022. Nvidia had increased the prices for its FE cards by 5-6 percent at the beginning of the year, effectively raising the RRP. The price cuts reported by Benchlife are said to only apply to high-end cards. The RTX 3090 Ti is supposed to officially drop from $1,999 to $1,499, which would be a hefty price drop of 25 percent, or $500 in absolute terms. We remember: The Geforce RTX 3090 Ti is currently sold exclusively at NBB as a Founders Edition. 1,899 euros are called for here, which is at least 350 euros below the previously announced RRP of 2,249 euros. If the report is to be believed, the RTX 3090 Non-Ti will be $200 or 13.3 percent cheaper. The RTX 3080 Ti is still missing, it should range from 1,099 US dollars in the future and thus be 100 USD or 8.3 percent cheaper. According to Benchlife, the 12GB version of the RTX 3080 will have an official MSRP of $799 in the future – so far there is no MSRP from Nvidia. The $699 for the 10GB version of the RTX 3080 is here to stay, as are the prices of all of Nvidia’s other cheaper cards. So the price reduction focuses solely on the high-end cards from the RTX 3080 Ti and it will be exciting to see how the board partners pass on such a price reduction – if it comes.
