Gamescom 2022: Square Enix is there, but without games
It has been apparent for some time that the Gamescom This year has a rather moderate amount to offer, because numerous large video game companies are staying away from the fair: Both Nintendo and Activision Blizzard are honored Cologne not with her visit, same goes for Sony. After all: Microsoft and Xbox are there.
And also Square Enix is part of the party, as the company has now announced. However, it doesn’t, and that’s likely to be a source of disappointment for many fans, um new games or to show new material for well-known titles. So you can expect neither gameplay for Forspoken, which has been postponed again, nor for the recently announced Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
Square Enix attends Gamescom and has merchandise with them
Instead, you want to focus entirely on the Sale of merchandise and accordingly has a 114 m2 booth with over 180 items from the Square Enix Store. Among them is a lot of merchandise that is otherwise only available exclusively in the online store. So if you don’t like to order on the Internet, but still want fan articles final fantasy, Kingdom Hearts or DragonQuest is looking for, you should find it here.
Stand D020 is located in Hall 05.2 and, according to Square Enix, will bring the “Largest selection of products ever offered at Gamescom”. In addition, they have come up with something for loyal customers: from one Purchase value of 50€ you get it from Thursday to Sunday exclusive bonus items:
- Thursday 25 August – Final Fantasy XIV job pin
- Friday 26 August – Dissidia Final Fantasy Acrylic keychain
- Saturday 27 August – Final Fantasy XIV Craft Class Pin
- Sunday 28th August – Bomb Plushie or Final Fantasy XIV carabiner
Not that Gamescom visitors don’t have an extensive one Merchandise Offer would be happy, but the lack of presence with the quite remarkable portfolio of upcoming games is still regrettable. Especially since Square Enix still has a lot planned for the rest of the year: In addition to Nier Automata for the Nintendo Switch, the Japanese company still wants 2022 Dragon Quest TreasuresValkyrie Elysium and Star Ocean: The Divine Force.
