WoW: The Alpha of Dragonflight is live – so you can still register

World of Warcraft Dragonflight is heating up. The alpha test has started and the first invitations have already been sent.

The next World of Warcraft expansion is scheduled for release in 2022. Time is slowly but surely running out for an alpha or beta test… but now the time has finally come. The developers have announced that the Dragonflight Alpha will finally start today, 07/14/2022.

How to play? If you’re already one of the lucky ones, you can easily check that out in the Battle.net launcher. Select World of Warcraft and open the selection menu directly under “Game Version & Account”. If you already have access to the Alpha, there should be a menu entry called “Dragonflight Alpha”. Select it and click “Install” to download the alpha version of the new WoW expansion.

What’s in the Alpha? Blizzard has announced that the Alpha will have “targeted testing,” meaning there will only be some specific content available at a time. For starters, the “The Azure Mountains” as well as the new class of the Dracthyr Caller. Other areas are coming in the following weeks. Blizzard wants to collect focused feedback on individual game areas.

How do I register for the Dragonflight Alpha and Beta? In this article we have explained exactly how the registration for the Dragonflight beta works. Don’t worry if you don’t get access to the latest expansion right away. Blizzard usually sends out additions in several waves and over time the number of invitations increases.

When is the official release? A binding date for the release of WoW: Dragonflight does not yet exist. However, when pre-selling the game, Blizzard already stated that Dragonflight should be released in 2022, i.e. no later than December 31, 2022. However, it is likely that the actual release will take place a few weeks earlier. As soon as there is reliable information on this, we will of course report about it on MeinMMO.
