RimWorld: New trailer gives a taste of the console edition

RimWorld (Simulation) von Ludeon Studios

The complex colony simulation is coming to PS4 and Xbox One this month. Reason enough for the developers to once again bang the advertising drum with a trailer.

The critically acclaimed title originally appeared as a Kickstarter project in 2013 before being officially released in 2018. Now, after almost ten years, RimWorld is coming to other platforms. It should be on July 29th, we have been able to pre-order the port for a few days.

RimWorld: Released its own trailer for the console edition

The almost endless variety that mods brought to the world of the game ensured that RimWorld never got boring in all its years and is still considered a perennial favorite on Steam. Finally, the sci-fi simulation was equipped with the appropriate Steam Deck support before it now leaves its base and sets off for new platform planets.

The game was originally developed by Ludeon Studios, but the experienced studio Double Eleven is responsible for the port to the consoles, which has already implemented titles such as Rust or Prison Architect away from the PC in the past. Speaking of which: A good implementation should be extremely important at RimWorld anyway, after all the game is considered to be very complex, which should be due to its numerous tools and mechanics. It is important to keep this functional on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One without losing the charm of the game for console players.

The trailer conveys the attention to detail as well as the many possibilities that RimWorld offers us, from the building materials to a prison break. RimWorld costs around 40 euros in the standard version for consoles, for around 55 euros there is the Digital Deluxe Edition, which in addition to the Royalty DLC also offers three days earlier access to the game.
