Only a few days separate us from Stray. The cute exploration game will be released on July 19th for PS4, PS5 and PC and puts us in the fluffy coat of a cat with which we roam through a colorful and dark cyberpunk city.

Now Sony has announced the installation size:

  • PS4: 13,352GB (Version: 1.02)
  • PS5 : 7,514GB (Version: 1.003.000)

In case you’re wondering why the game takes up more space on PS4 than on PS5: Sony’s new console uses a technology called Kraken, which combined with the fast SSD, compresses games without sacrificing textures and resolution.

In this day and age, when games like Call of Duty Modern Warfare tend to take up over 100GB on our hard drives, we’re happy to accept smaller titles like Stray. We’re not expecting an oversized open world adventure here, but rather a compressed exploration game with a pleasant playing time of 8 to 10 hours.

Free with PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium: Stray will appear directly as part of the PS Plus subscription. If you have an active Extra or Premium subscription, you can download the action-adventure at no additional cost.

Meanwhile, Sony has announced a handful of other games coming to PS Plus Extra and Premium on July 19, including many Ubisoft titles such as Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag and more.
