YouTuber and engineer Jairus of All has built a working replica of Halo’s SPNKR rocket launcher.

Who doesn’t know the fleeting moment just before the ragequit, when you throw things at your controllable, virtual heroes like: “Hit it! How hard can that be?!” Or my personal favorite – “Every child can do it better!”

YouTuber “Jairus of All‘ has now put to the test just how difficult it actually is to hit something with weapons like Halo’s SPNKR Rocket Launcher. The engineer built both the gun and the ammunition himself and drew up the plans for them.

In a video, he demonstrates and explains how his homemade rockets work and the difficulties he encountered in his experiments.

The projectile ballistics are a particular challenge here, since projectiles as large as rockets are extremely susceptible to external influences. Jairus decided to use a laser pointer for aiming, but since missiles have relatively unreliable trajectories unless remotely controlled, that didn’t help much either.

After all the teething troubles and weak battery power of the aiming system were eliminated, a shot finally landed on target. This attempt is of course a hobby project and does not ensure reliable enemy combat by the alliance, but it is fun to watch.

You can be quite satisfied with the result in the price comparison, since a single practice shot with a Panzerfaust 3 of the Bundeswehr costs several thousand euros and this man assembled everything himself in his workshop.
