Dark Souls – Fan is writing two books on the game’s lore
Dark Souls is one of the most popular games of the last ten years. Accordingly, there is not only great interest in the notorious gameplay, but also in the world, the characters and the story of the game. All this has now been summarized by the Dark Souls fan “Souls Lokey”. He has worked intensively with the Lore of the first Dark Souls game and based on this a unique project was conceived. With the Abyssal Archives he has written two books for the 10th anniversary of the original Dark Souls, which are published until August 14, 2022 can be pre-ordered.
According to the publisher’s website, the books will be delivered in spring 2023. However, it is important to emphasize that this is not an official product FromSoftware acts. Nevertheless, both books can already come up with high-quality illustrations and an overall very high-quality presentation. It also advertises that it has the most comprehensive fan analysis of the game’s narrative to date.
The price of the collectible
An illustrated map of Lordran is also included as part of the pack. But this package is very expensive. The standard edition of the Abyssal Archive costs 180 euros. The deluxe edition, which comes in a special box instead of a slipcase, costs 249 euros. Those who purchase the Benefactor Edition can immortalize themselves in the acknowledgments section of the books. This combination of book and immortalization costs 495 euros.
Books about Dark Souls and Co.
The Abyssal Archive is not the first book project that has emerged around Dark Souls. Last year we reported on an art book that was successfully financed via Kickstarter. This shows illustrations that were not only inspired by the original, but also by titles such as Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne or Elden Ring.
