According to a rumor by journalist Jeff Grubb, Assassin’s Creed Infinity could finally go to Japan.

There are new rumors about Assassin’s Creed Infinity that many players around the world have been waiting for for a long time. According to a rumor, part of the setting in the next but one entry in the series could be in Japan.

As the next part in the Assassin’s Creed series, the presumably shorter game Assassin’s Creed Rift will be released. There are also discussions about where the Animus is sending the player this time.

However, the latest rumor is about the entry to follow on Rift. Assassin’s Creed Infinity, the first Live service variant of an Assassin’s Creed game.

Live service titles should be constantly updated with new content. According to video game journalist Jeff Grubb, one of these contents could be a Japanese setting. Fans have long asked for such an environment for their assassin.

With ninjas, samurai and a strongly maritime past, old Japan offers exceptionally good material for a new Assassin’s Creed part. Shipping, stealth action as well as fights or battles of conquest can possibly be depicted.

According to what Jeff Grubb has heard, part of the setting for Infinity or the next main game after Infinity will be “Japan” and that’s supposed to be a big open world RPG similar to the last games.

So to recap: Assassin’s Creed Rift is intended to be more of a smaller title compared to the others in the series, while Assassin’s Creed Infinity could become a live service game, with Japan included as the area. The next part is said to be an open-world RPG that could also take place in Japan.

An official Ubisoft event is planned for September, there could be new information from the official side. Until then, everything else remains just a rumor and should be understood as such.
