Doom legend John Romero is making a new shooter using Unreal Engine 5

Design legend John Romero (Doom, Quake) has announced that he is working on a brand new shooter with his studio Romero Games.

This is said to be based on Unreal Engine 5, is being created in cooperation with a “big publisher” and is a new IP.

What Romero says so far

“A new era is dawning for Romero Games,” Romero said on Twitter. “We are working with a major publisher to develop John Romero’s next shooter: an all-new FPS based on a new IP.”

“Our team is growing and we are looking for talented individuals for all positions and at all levels of experience, particularly those with Unreal Engine 5 experience.”

Romero Games is based in Galway, Ireland, however the studio also supports work from home or hybrid models.
