Pokémon GO: Extreme Weather – Trainers are asking for spawn adjustments
Some parts of the world are currently experiencing extreme heat, which is also having an impact on the gaming experience in Pokémon GO. Therefore, trainers are now demanding an important change from the developers. We at MeinMMO show you what it’s all about.
What role does the weather play? Unlike other games, Pokémon GO is designed in such a way that Trainers have to go outside to play. However, it is not possible to safely catch the popular pocket monsters in all weather conditions.
In some regions there is currently enormous heat, when people should not normally be outside for a long time. And it is here that many players see problems related to the game and demand an urgent change.

What problems do the coaches see? Although according to the weather services there are extreme weather conditions outside in many parts of the world and even Pokémon GO displays a warning when the game starts, the trainers are still being sent outside.
And popular events, such as Community Day or the spotlight and raid hours, will continue to be held and should encourage the trainers to move. But it is precisely here that the trainers are concerned about their safety and are calling for the spawns to be improved so that they no longer have to be outside for so long.

What would be a solution? In the last few months, the home bonuses introduced by the pandemic have been systematically removed, making it almost impossible to play from home. For example, the smoke when standing still has been made worse, so players will now only get a monster about every 5 minutes if they are not moving.
And the long-distance raid passes have also become more expensive and removed from the weekly boxes so that the trainers can raid more often in local groups again. But this is exactly where Niantic should start and create solutions, according to the reddit community.
This is also the opinion of the user OneEyedBanshee, who did not play with Staralili on Community Day due to the current high temperatures, so as not to endanger his own health. The reason for this was the event period, which was exactly in the midday sun from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Therefore he demands in his reddit postthat the spawns from the smoke should be increased during weather warnings, so that safe play is also possible.
What do other coaches say about this idea? This suggestion is also well received by the other coaches. After all, players who are in a region with such extreme weather conditions could still participate in the events and would not be forced to put themselves in any danger.
In addition, the developers have been criticized again and again in recent months because of the numerous changes in the game. The reddit user Negative-Champion260 therefore finds this idea excellent and is convinced that Niantic would also improve its scratched image. He writes:
It’s smart to make money developing a game based on AR technology, where you can take photos of Pokémon in the wild and follow the course of the sun, moon and stars. However, it would be wiser for Niantic to restore its battered image through measures such as promoting responsible behavior as described by OP. If Niantic really doesn’t want to constantly increase the smoke spawn rate, it should definitely be increased during weather alerts.

And other players also agree with this opinion, as they have had similar experiences in the past few days. Above all, they criticize the weather warnings in the game.
These only offer players the option to select “I’m safe” and, according to some statements, combined with the in-game changes and push messages, hardly give the coaches the feeling that Niantic is actually concerned about their safety. However, it remains to be seen whether Niantic will actually respond to the demands of the trainers and, at least in extreme weather conditions, make it possible to play from home in the future.
