It starts with Final Fantasy: Square Enix launches NFT shop
As previously announced, Square Enix the first NFT cooperation announced. Earlier this year, the company’s president Yosuke Matsuda already made it clear that NFTs will play a role at Square Enix sooner or later. At the time, he even referred to the non-fungible tokens as “Future of the Industry” and received a lot of criticism with this statement. Apparently, however, no rethinking has taken place. The sale of the first NFT has now started.
Final Fantasy 7 makes NFT debut
For the 25th anniversary of the RPG, it will be in partnership with Enjin a digital one NFT Collection give. The objects will be included as a code in certain products that will be available in stores in 2023. But before things really get going, Square Enix is already offering one Action figure from Cloud Strife for pre-order. The deluxe edition of the collector’s item will then be delivered with an NFT code. The figure is priced at $159.99.
Warning when purchasing the NFT figure
In a paragraph, Square Enix would like to point out that if the Enjin ecosystem is discontinued, the NFT may be lost. This would leave you with only the physical action figure of Cloud from Final Fantasy 7. Incidentally, Square Enix also wants to sell NFT games in the future. However, the time has not yet come for this, as was reported a few weeks ago.
Several Final Fantasy 7 projects on the way
Also as part of the 25th anniversary, Square Enix co-unveiled Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth the sequel to the remake from 2020. But before the game is expected to be released in winter 2023/2024 Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 a new edition this winter. This means that the prequel role-playing game with Zack is no longer tied to the PSP.
