Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora may not release until 2024
Ubisoft put some announced projects back on hold. These include the VR offshoot of Splinter Cell and also the free Battle Royale Ghost Recon: Frontline. In addition to the games that will probably never see the light of day again, the release of a much-anticipated game has unfortunately also been postponed.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora pushed back to fiscal year 2023
We’re talking about Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which was originally announced in 2017. The first-person action-adventure was supposed to be released this fiscal year, which runs through March 31, 2023. The release could therefore have coincided with the new film Avatar: The Way of Water, which will be in cinemas in December of this year.
However, Ubisoft has now declared at an investor conference that the title should be released in the 2023 financial year. This could mean that in the worst case scenario, we won’t even be able to play Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora itself until 2024. Financial Officer Frederick Duguet gave the reason for the delay as “current restrictions on productions across the industry”.
The company wants to hold its Ubisoft Forward event in September this year. Among other things, there should be news about the future of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. We may also learn something about Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora there, in the form of a new trailer or something similar.
