DDR5 Buyer’s Guide: Prices, Ranks, Chips & More
RAM comparison test
The current RAM comparison test includes some exceptional kits, including the currently fastest available DDR5 kits with 32 and 64 GiByte. In addition to these high-end products, we have of course also dealt with more affordable models. Using concrete examples, we explain how the prices of DDR5 versus DDR4 RAM have developed and why DDR5 memory is becoming more and more interesting. In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of some products are discussed and RAM kits are presented that are particularly worthwhile.
Since we tested modules with a capacity of 32 GiByte for the first time, we can now report to you on the influence of a dual-rank versus a single-rank structure. We also summarize what we know so far about Ryzen 7000 and Raptor Lake RAM support and what that means for DDR5 RAM purchases. For overclockers, of course, an assessment of which chips are installed on which modules should not be missing.
