Intel Raptor Lake: Core 13000 to be released in October and announced in September?

from Valentin Sattler
Intel’s new Raptor Lake processors are said to be announced in September and launched in mid-October. The first non-K models and cheaper chipsets, however, should not follow until January.

So far, only a rough release window is known for Intel’s upcoming Raptor Lake processors, which are to be launched as the Core 13000. According to the current state of knowledge, the new CPUs will appear sometime before the end of the year, but there is no more precise, official limitation.

September, October, January

One is already further in the rumor mill: There is currently a specific release period for Raptor Lake circulating. Noisy Enthusiastic citizen (ECSM_Official), which is active on the Chinese platform Bilibili, the new processors are scheduled to be launched in the week of October 17th to 23rd. But then there will supposedly only be part of the complete portfolio, namely the processors Core i5-13600K(F), Core i7-13700K(F) and Core i9-13900K(F) and the new Z790 chipset.

All of these products are also scheduled to be presented in September. According to Enthusiastic Citizen, Intel plans to make an announcement at the Innovation Event, which has already been officially announced for September 27th and 28th was announced. The launch of Alder Lake also took place last year in connection with the Innovation Event, at least for this date there is more to it than just the pure statement of the leaker.

If you want to wait for the slower Raptor Lake processors, you’ll have to wait a little longer according to Enthusiastic Citizen. Allegedly, Intel wants to present the H760 and B760 chipsets and other (non-K) CPUs at CES 2023 on January 5 and launch them in the second half of January. Only then should the Raptor Lake platform become more attractive for more price-conscious players. But before that, it should be possible to combine an existing, inexpensive Alder Lake mainboard with a Raptor Lake processor, so that you don’t have to buy a Z790 board.
