German Twitch streamers are discovering a new trend that's making them sweat - fans are loving it

It’s no secret that many Germans love football. Now some Twitch streamers and YouTubers are also discovering this preference. Most recently, Maximilian “Trymacs” Stemmler and his team SSV Hardstuck had their very first cup game against the 5th division team Eimsbütteler TV.

What is it with football and Twitch streamers? The largest German streamer eliasn97 founded his club Delay Sports Berlin at the end of 2021 and rocked his first games with it. He made it to number 4 in gaming trends with the YouTube video and has had 715,000 views to date.

Knossi also sponsored a football team, SC Baden-Baden aka the “Knossis Kickers” and was there live at games (via YouTube). Viewers celebrated the video and demanded more such content in the comments.

Now Trymacs had his first cup game and had to play against the 5th division Eimsbütteler TV, the Oberliga from Hamburg. His accompanying YouTube video also made it to Trends in the Gaming category — and even ranked #2.

A huge football event also took place on Twitch on July 2nd, which attracted over 14,000 simultaneous viewers. Everything about the wild spectacle can be found here:

Twitch: Football event with Trymacs was a huge success – Lots of goals, penalties and 3 injured

This is how the game went from SSV Hardstuck against Eimsbütteler TV

The match was played in secret and the fans were not told as Trymacs could not get security yet. Many team members dropped out of the game because they were either sick or “not there”.

In addition, the team had 2 wildcard members who did not belong on the team, but were allowed to take part in the game.

So the team was “a wild mix”, partly didn’t know the names of the teammates and Trymacs was rather relaxed about the whole thing. Nevertheless, he scored his first goal and also gave an assist. So they finished 2:5 not so badly and “performed mega”.

What is the community saying? In the comments of the video there are many users who want more.

  • Niklas praises: “Sick project! Trymacs never disappoints when it comes to entertainment!”
  • Sondo81 is enthusiastic: “That’s exactly what I wanted to see! Really cool. Fouls, goals and blind Shiri, that’s district league! It’s best to train endurance every day now, then I see potential for improvement! Jan really good.”
  • A Certain Accelerator says: “I’m not really a football fan, but the video was very entertaining. Super cool project and props to the editor(s).”
  • JohnXD7 notes: “Great project. If your goalkeeper would actually move and dive (no offense meant), you could even become a really good team.”

Occasionally, some commentators even give tips on the line-up and advise the team to train. They see potential in the team and are convinced that with commitment they could even beat eliasn97’s team.
