The Fantasy Novel Series”Eragon” by Christopher Paolini is apparently getting a second chance at a successful adaptation. Disney is said to be making one Produce a series for Disney+’s own streaming service, which is in an early stage of development. That reports Variety and relies on anonymous sources.
The book series was published from 2002 to 2011 and includes four novels in all, about the young dragon rider Eragon. He finds a mysterious egg from which the dragon Seraphina hatches. Together they fight numerous opponents and the evil king Galbatorix, who rules the land of Alagaësia.
The “Eragon” books have spread worldwide sold over 41 million copies and are still very popular to this day. However, the first attempt to bring the material to the cinema in 2006 was less well received. The film adaptation did not always stick to the plot of the book and was perceived by fans as superficial and. Financially, the film was also not a success.
In 2021 there was even a fan campaign on Twitter under the hashtag #EragonRemake asked for another attempt to implement the plot faithfully. That could succeed this time, because supposedly it should Paolini himself co-wrote the new adaptation will.
