News
The update settings of Windows 10 now show the patch KB5015878 after a manual search. Anyone who installs this brings Windows 10 to build 19044.1865 or 19043.1865 or 19042.1865 (21H2, 21H1 or 20H2), depending on the update status. The update is optional and, as always, brings alleged improvements, more or less noticeable changes and bug fixes. Security patches are typically reserved for the patch day. What does the optional July patch bring?
According to Microsoft, KB5015878 for Windows 10 brings a function for important notifications as a highlight, as it also includes the current, optional Windows 11 update. This allows you to be kept up to date by certain apps despite the activated “Do not disturb” mode. There are also adjustments to automatic Windows provisioning scenarios for companies. Read the entry for more details to the patch at Microsoft.
Microsoft lists a patch for docking stations as a bug fix for KB5015878. These could lose the internet connection when waking up from standby mode. Also, the patch logs say somewhat meaninglessly: “Adds features that improve the operating system upgrade.” Let’s see what that brings in the future. Microsoft is not delivering a bug fix for current printer problems in Windows 10, it is still a long time coming.
Then Microsoft fixed a problem with video playback in games that use DirectX 12. Every now and then this constellation gave the impression of alleged bugs in the game titles themselves. Sound problems could also arise when the Xaudio API was used. Then the search could have display errors if you used multiple monitors with different resolutions. Finally, as with the Windows 11 update, there is a bug fix for the troubleshooting tools.
